In 2003 SATeacher observed that teachers were extremely frustrated due to the administrative burden imposed on the profession with the implementation of the NCS. This was confirmed in a study done by the Human Science Research Council in 2005.

For this reason SATeacher developed the popular standard NCS Resource Pack - a comprehensive file system that helped teachers to focus on teaching. Through the years this resource was further developed and kept dynamic by adding more learning areas and activity sheets.

In 2009 the Minister of Education appointed a task team to investigate the problems with the implementation of the NCS. Although the task team followed an unscientific opinion based method, they came to the same conclusions.

SATeacher has now released the NCS Resource pack in a eResource format. The eResource is available as a Management version for use by schools and as a Personal Daily Planner version for use by individual teachers.

This eResource incorporates the standard SATeacher NCS Resource pack, as well as other resource packs, including the Foundation for Learning resource pack. The collection is expanding and by January 2010 the eResource will comprise various other resource packs.

The Management version of the eResource assists management and teachers to manage teaching and learning in the school by setting specific achievement targets and tracking the progress.

The eResource also contains an electronic "Outlook like" dairy that links the Teacher's personal school time table with a Period Planner.

The Period Planner links the class directly to the Work Schedule and Resource - automating the planning process.

Through the Planner the teacher can also reflect on every lesson (teaching and learning) and so  keep track of each learner's progress and identify the developmental needs for each learner.

The Management version also keeps track of the progress of teaching in the school, alerting management about any variance.

This system is dynamic and can be loaded with different programmes and resources. The SATeacher Resource covers all Learning areas from Grade R to Grade 9 with Learning Programmes, Work Schedules, Assessment Programmes, Lesson Plans and Activity Sheets. We are currently loading the DoE National F4L programme, the WCED Programmes and the Eastern Cape and Gauteng Numeracy programmes, offering educators a library of resources.

Individual teachers can now obtain the SATeacher NCS eResource - Personal Daily Planner version for as little as R525 per Learning Area for the first Grade indicated and R275 per Learning Area for each grade thereafter. (Sample: A teacher teaching Grade 4, 5 and 6 Technology will pay R525 + (2 x R275) = R1075)
