This new upgraded version of the NCS eResource comes in two versions, namely SATeacher MTLA eResource - SASchool and SATeacher MTLA eResource - Personal Planner.

The SATeacher MTLA eResource - SASchool assists management and teachers to manage teaching and learning in the school by setting specific achievement targets and tracking the progress throughout the school.

It consists of a central database system from where an individual database (or workstation) can be created for every teacher. Each teacher can then manage his/her own planning, resources and the performance of learners.

SATeacher MTLA eResource - Personal Planner enables teachers to manage teaching, learning and assessment on an individual level that is not linked to a central database for the whole school. Both the 'workstation' linked to SATeacher MTLA eResource - SASchool and the SATeacher MTLA eResource - Personal Planner contain an electronic "Outlook like" dairy that links the teacher's personal school time table with a Period Planner.

The Period Planner links the class directly to the Work Schedule and Resource - automating the planning process. Through the Planner the teacher can reflect on every lesson (formal and informal activities), keep track of each learner's progress and identify the developmental needs for every learner.

SATeacher plans to launch two more versions in the MTLA series towards the middle of 2010. The SATeacher MTLA eResource - Group and the SATeacher MTLA eResource - Training versions will respectively focus on groups (like clusters and districts) and training consultancies.

The SATeacher MTLA eResource is dynamic and can be loaded with different programmes and resources. The SASchool and Personal Planner versions of the MTLA eResource include the SATeacher standard resource pack, covering all Learning Areas from Grade R to Grade 9 with Learning Programmes, Work Schedules, Assessment Programmes, Lesson Plans and Activity Sheets.

We are currently also loading the National DoE F4L programme, the WCED Programmes and the Eastern Cape and Gauteng Numeracy programmes, offering educators a library of resources. Teachers can also create, add and organise their own resources within the MTLA eResource system.

Recently the Minister of Education announced that: " Each teacher must keep a single Teacher File for planning and moderation purposes".  These files can be updated and printed directly from the MTLA eResource system. All documents in the system are in line with the DoE Policy.

For greater convenience, SATeacher now offers a printing service to our members, where custom made Teacher Files can be ordered.

These files contain:

• General Information like School Calendar, Year Planner, pro-forma time table and - class lists.

• Work Schedules

• Lesson Plan pro-forma (detailed lesson plans can be printed from the system)

• Assessment Programme

• Assessment Tasks and Memos (memos can be downloaded from MTLA website on a roll-out basis)

• Resource listing page

• Activity sheets - covering all activities on the Work Schedule

• Pro-forma recording sheet - based on policy - detailed schedules can be printed from system
