What is Soccermaths?

Soccermaths is a CD-based maths development programme, developed to assist learners (Grade R to 7) to practice and improve their mathematical skills.

Just like the name suggests – the central theme of this mathematics programme is soccer and the activities focus on the soccer world cup.

The programme….

  • Is based on the South African mathematics curriculum and covers Grade R to 7.

  • Each grade consists out of fun activities covering all the learning outcomes.

  • After each activity the learner can do an interactive quiz to assess their understanding.

  • Results of the quiz can be printed to identify developmental need. (It could even be taken to school to show the teacher.)

  • Each activity is also supported with a note for the “coach” (parent/teacher), a memorandum and printable resources.

  • Over and above these activities there is also a “Warm-up” section with mental maths quiz activities.

  • Learners can enter into a competition with great prizes. (Closing date 31 July 2010)

    • Learners - First prize (based on accuracy and speed) is a desktop computer.

    • School - Best performing learners (on average) – LCD television.

  • The “Take a break” section is loaded with fun interactive games that develop the brain and hand-eye
    co-ordination.

  • The coach (parent/teacher) also has access to an email based help line.

  • All activities are in English and Afrikaans.
